8th Post - Sunday, April 6 - Sea of Galilee, Mount of the Beatitudes, and Capernaum

From the Mediterranean Sea we cut back over to the east side of Israel to the Sea of Galilee.
What a contrast to the dry, southern part of the country. Here are green, forested hills, and rolling farmlands. It's really beautiful.
We started with a 2-hour boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, complete with 'Peter' the Fisherman demonstrating to us the use of the fishing nets. Then they led us in some Israeli dances.
From there we drove up to the Mt. of the Beatitudes and sang a few songs in the chapel there, which had wonderful acoustic. We dropped back to the edge of the Sea for time in Capernaum, 'home of Jesus' and also the place where Peter's house was.
