7th Post - Saturday, April 5 - Jericho, Qumran, and the Mediterranean Sea

The morning started with a visit to the desert and a time for prayer and meditation. We concluded that time with communion, overlooking the area where David herded sheep and where Jesus walked between Jericho and Jerusalem.
We dropped back down into the Great Rift Valley / Dead Sea for a visit to the world's oldest city, Jericho.
We concluded our time in the area with a visit to Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 11 different caves. We got a close-up view of Cave #4.
From there we drove north along the Jordan River, with the country of Jordan always just beyond the river to the east. Lots of greenhouses and fields on both the Israeli and the Jordanian sides of the river.
We cut across to the west through the Jezreel Valley to the Mediterranean Sea, where we checked in to the Nahsholim Resort on the beach.
